Rathdrum railway station

Rathdrum railway station

Rathdrum railway station ( _ga. Stáisiún Ráth Droma)serves the town of Rathdrum in County Wicklow, Ireland. It opened on 18 July 1863, replacing the earlier terminus at Rathdrum (Kilcommon) (opened on 20 August 1861) [cite web | title=Rathdrum station | work=Railscot - Irish Railways | url=http://www.railscot.co.uk/Ireland/Irish_railways.pdf | accessdate=2007-09-08] when the line was extended. It is a two platform station with a passing loop, and water tower at the south end of one platform. There is a tunnel to the south and a viaduct to the north of the station.

The station sees commuter and inter-city trains to Dublin Connolly and Rosslare Europort. There used to be a third platform and a goods area, and this is now a small industrial area.
