Previous = 1981The 1982 World Endurance Championship season was the 30th FIA World Sportscar Championship season. It was a series running under the Group C formula, as well as racing against cars in Group B, Group 6, Group 5, IMSA GTX, IMSA GTO, GT, and T classes, although none of these cars were included in the WEC Championship. It ran from April 18, 1982 to October 17, 1982, and was comprised of 8 races.
This marked the first year that the chassis builder was included in the manufacturer's championship, instead of merely the engine builder.
