Gatundu

Gatundu is a small town in the Central Province of Kenya. Gatundu is also center of the "Gatundu division" in Thika District. Gatundu is located 15 kilometres west of Thika and 15 kilometres north of Kiambu. Gatundu and its environs has two constituencies: Gatundu North and Gatundu South.

Gatundu belongs to rural highland north of capital Nairobi. Local people are mainly of the Kikuyu tribe.

The first Kenyan president Jomo Kenyatta is from Gatundu, as well as his son, Uhuru Kenyatta, now a political leader.

Gatundu town has been the headquarters of the newly created Gatundu District since June 2007.
