James F. Hastings

James F. Hastings

James Fred Hastings (born April 10, 1926) was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from New York.

Hastings was born in Olean, New York. He served in the United States Navy from 1943 until 1946. He was manager and vice president of radio station WHDL from 1952 until 1966. He served in the New York State Assembly from 1962 until 1965 and in the New York State Senate from 1965 until 1969. He was a delegate to the 1968 Republican National Convention and the 1972 Republican National Convention. He was elected to Congress in 1968 and served from January 3, 1969 until his resignation on January 20, 1976. He is currently a resident of Olean, New York.
