Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences

The Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) is a medical college in Hubli, Karnataka, run by the Government of karnataka state. The institute was established in 1957. Prior to 1996, the institute was known as the Karnataka Medical College (KMC). This was a part of Karnatak University of Dharwar and now is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore (RGUHS). This is a teaching hospital and tertiary care health centre catering largely to the northern and north-eastern regions of Karnataka.The attached hospital is called KIMS hospital.The medical college and attached hospital are spread across a sprawling campus of approximately acres.

The institute offers graduate and postgraduate courses in Medical Sciences recognized by the Medical Council of India MCI.

The institute holds an annual cultural fest known as 'Kalaspandana' which is a melting pot for the various talents which the students of the institute possess.

A very well known medical exhibition is held once every 3 to 5 years in KIMS known as 'Karmex'. The last Karmex was orgaised in the year 2005.
