David Joseph Solomona[2] (born 26 January 1978 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a professional rugby league footballer for the Warrington Wolves of Europe's Super League. He is regularly amongst the top off-loaders in the competition. Solomona also attended St. Paul's College, Auckland, a school known for consistently producing the best rugby league team in the national secondary school competition.

Australia

Solomona started his career in Australia with the Sydney City Roosters and Parramatta Eels.

England

Solomona spent three years at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats where his skills helped keep them in Super League, before moving to the Grattan Stadium.

Bradford Bulls

He signed for Bradford Bulls on 24 October 2006 for the 2007 season. Solomona is seen as the man to give the Bulls the X Factor.[who?] He's been ever present in 2007.[citation needed]

Solomona was the Bulls only ever present in 2007, making 32 appearances in his first year at the club. Blessed with tremendous ball handling skills he also has the ability to score tries himself and he scored 14 tries in 2007, including a hat trick. Strong and skilful he is undoubtedly the Ace in the Bulls pack when it comes to creating tries.[citation needed]

Solomona missed the first 5 games of 2008 due to injury picked up in pre season.

Warrington Wolves

Solomona played for Warrington in the 2010 Challenge Cup Final victory over the Leeds Rhinos.[3]

Solomona has continued to feature in the Warrington Wolves squad throughout the 2011 season. He is mainly brought on as a replacement making good use of his strength and ball handling skills to make inroads into the opposing defence

Representative

New Zealand

He represented New Zealand on many occasions and helped them to defeat Australia to win the tri nations in 2005.

Samoa

Solomona has played in two World Cups for Samoa, in 2000 and 2008 for Samoa.[4]
