Glasgow Hutchesons Aloysians RFC, or more commonly GHA is a rugby union club based in Giffnock on the South Side of Glasgow.

History

The club was established by the 2002 merger between Glasgow Southern RFC and Hutchesons' - Aloysians' RFC. The former club was originally known as Clarkston but was renamed in 1995 with the ambition of creating the premier side on the South Side of Glasgow. The latter club was also formed as the result of an earlier merger between the former pupils (FPs) clubs of Hutchesons' Grammar School and St. Aloysius' College. The merged club is now firmly established as the premier club on the South Side of Glasgow.

The club plays its home matches at Braidholm, the historic home of Clarkston RFC in Giffnock. The histories of each of the three foundation clubs are recorded on a panel in the Braidholm Clubhouse. The amalgamation has been a great success with GHA having spent 3 years in Premier One (03/04, 04/05, 07/08) - Scottish rugby's top domestic league. The club are currently playing in Premier Two having been relegated from Premier One on the final day of the 07/08 season.

Youth Rugby

GHA has a thriving youth section which has contributed several players to the senior set up including James Eddie who subsequently signed for Glasgow's professional team, the Glasgow Warriors.

GHA's ongoing ties with Hutchesons' Grammar School and St. Aloysius' College can also be seen from the large number of former pupils of both schools dominating both the 1st and 2nd XV.

The following players have played at least one season for GHA since the 2002 merger.
