- Sweet Transvestite
"Sweet Transvestite" is the fifth
song in the1975 cult film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show ".etting
The song is performed by Dr. Frank-N-Furter (
Tim Curry ) with minor spoken parts by Brad (Barry Bostwick ), Janet (Susan Sarandon ), Riff Raff (Richard O'Brien ), Columbia (Nell Campbell ), and Magenta (Patricia Quinn ). The verses are mostly either spoken or sing-song, whereas the chorus is sung. In the original stage play, "The Rocky Horror Show ", the song came fourth - beforeThe Time Warp . Later scripts of the stage play (from1999 at least) use the film's ordering of the songs. In either case, it is sung at Dr. Frank-N-Furter's first appearance. In the movie, he appears wearing a long black cloak that obscures most of his body except his head and part of his 6-inch (15 cm) high heels. At the first chorus, he takes off the cloak to reveal his transvestial
attire . It ends with Frank standing in a rising elevator, and the Transylvanians (people from Frank's home planet) clapping and cheering.Covers
