Wilson Senior High School is a high school located in Spring Township (formerly West Lawn), Pennsylvania. It is the only high school in the Wilson School District.

Standardised tests

The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment tests are taken annually by juniors; The chart below shows the percentage of students who were deemed proficient in three areas: mathematics, reading, and writing. A fourth subject— science— is to be added in the 2007-08 school year. The values reported below represent the latter half of the school year in which they are taken.

During the 2003-04 school year, the Reading Eagle assessed local high schools by the number of AP courses offered. In the Reading area, Wilson scored the highest, offering 12 AP coursesFact|date=February 2008. Students frequently take other AP exams than offered as classes. In the 2006-07 school year, 20 of the exams were taken by Wilson students.

Demographics

According to NCES in 2005-06, 84% of students were Caucasian, 7% were Hispanic, 6% were African-American, 3% were Asian or Pacific Islander, and less than 1% were Native American. Comparatively, the state averages in the same year were: 75% Caucasian, 6% Hispanic, 16% African-American, 2% Asian or Pacific Islander, and less than 1% Native American.

The Wilson Bulldogs have a storied football tradition.

Student to Teacher ratio

The current student to teacher ratio is 1:15; equal to the state average. Spending per student is 8,593 USD is lower than the state average (10,235 USD). 63% of this amount is spent directly on instruction, compared to the state average of 62%. 11% is spent on the staff, responsible for the recent elevation of standardized test scores, compared to the state average of 9%. Only 9% is spent on administration, compared to the state average of 11%. The remainder is spent elsewhere.

Democratic Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton makes a visit to Wilson on April 18, 2008. This was a event scheduled on April 16, 2008. It was kept secret due to unwanted media attention.
