List of baseball players who went directly to the major leagues

A number of baseball players are distinguished by the fact that they made their North American professional debut in the majors without having played a single game at the minor league level or at the professional level. The following is an attempt at a comprehensive list of those players.

It is worth noting that many of these players, at one time or another, did play in the minor leagues after their major league debut—some as rehabilitation assignments after injury, others after an outright demotion. Note also that in recent years, several players have moved directly from Japan's professional leagues to Major League Baseball.
