Kid Crusader is a fictional character in the DC Universe, and a member of the Titans East. He debuted in "Teen Titans" #42. Originally, the character was named "Choir Boy", [Dan DiDio talks about the upcoming Titans East in [http://www.dccomics.com/news/?nw=6341 DC Nation #22] ] as stated by Dan Didio in "DC Nation", while a solicitation for "Teen Titans" #43 referred to the character by the name of "Alter Boy". [Newsarama's [http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/Jan07/solicitations.html DC January 2007 52 (and more) Preview] ] . However, "Wizard" #180 released the design of Kid Crusader, and his initial design. The character, as described by Tony Daniel, is the arch-enemy of Kid Devil. Believing Kid Devil to be the face of evil, Kid Crusader will do whatever it takes to see that he is eliminated.

Fictional character biography

When Kid Crusader was young, his parents were murdered in their sleep, the confused child believed it was the work of Satan. Since that moment, he grew to challenge all dark and supernatural forces. A few months ago, the teen hero called Kid Devil, aka Eddie Bloomberg, stumbles into the Kid's Sunday school asking for help. Kid Crusader says he found his "calling" that day, to exorcise the demon inside Kid Devil and "save" him from eternity in Hell, although by "save" he means "kill." ["Teen Titans" #44 (2007)] He is recruited by Deathstroke the Terminator into Titans East, a villainous counterpart of the Teen Titans, for the sole reason of dealing with the only wild card on the team, Kid Devil.

Starting with "Teen Titans" #43, Kid Crusader attacks Kid Devil inside of a church and takes him back to Deathstroke's Tower on the East Coast. There, he performs a ritual that removes the demon essence from Kid Devil, turning him human with the intention of killing him before it returns, thus "saving" his soul from the hands of the demon Neron. In #45, he is interrupted when Miss Martian uses her mental abilities to enter his mind, and in a rage he strikes Kid Devil's demon essence. The essence then possesses Kid Crusader, turning him into a demon. He then seeks revenge on Kid Devil, because he now believes that he is going to hell, forever barred from seeing his parents in the afterlife. In #46, Raven is able to transfer the demon essence from Crusader back into Eddie, who feels that the responsibility of the demon-self belongs to him.

Powers and abilities

Kid Crusader has no special powers. He carries with him a variety of demon-hunting weapons to use for fighting and exorcism, including a large crucifix.
