Pieris

"Pieris" is two different genera:
*"Pieris" (plant), the andromedas or fetterbushes, is a plant genus in the Ericaceae family
*"Pieris" (butterfly), the whites, is a butterfly genus in the Pieridae family, the whites

*Pieris is also an ancient name of Kondariotissa and an ancient tribe where the name Pieria originates
*Another Pieris existed near what is now the southwestern portion of the Kavala prefecture in eastern Greek Macedonia. It is now a municipality, Piereis, covering most of the ancient Pieris
