Pali Hill

Pali Hill is a fashionable, posh area in Bandra (West), a suburb of Mumbai, India. It is Bollywood's equivalent of Beverly Hills.

Pali Hill Road was renamed Nargis Dutt Road after the actress wife of the late Bollywood actor and Member of Parliament, Sunil Dutt.

It was and still is one of the topnotch residential enclaves of the filmworld. One of the most prominent residents of Pali Hill is Bollywood icon Dilip Kumar.

Originally a thick forest nestled on a small Hill, Pali Hill saw construction in the 1890s. The area became fashionable since the moving of prominent business families of the early 20th century Mumbai. However, it became the hub of movie stars since the 1950s when Dilip Kumar bought a spacious 1920s Italian villa (48 Pali Hill), which is one of the most outstanding residential locations at the curve of the hill.

The major buildings on Pali Hill are Girnar Apartments, CoziHome, Hill Top, Hill-N-Sea, Jolly High-Rise, Hill Range, Marina and Bella Vista , Gulmohar. Girnar Apartments is where prominent film personalities such as Aditya Chopra, Uday Chopra, Anand Bakshi, Prem Chopra, Deepika Chikhlia, Begur Satyanarana and H. Nanjundaiah (both Kannada film producers), Tito/Tony (of Ram Balram fame) were or are residents of this building. Shyam Nanjundaiah (son of H. Nanjundaiah) editor of Indian English movie Stumble also stayed here till 1987.

There is a road going through Pali Hill named Zig Zag Road. The Gonsalves's owned a bungalow on Pali Hill called Hill Dream which has been broken down around 13-15 years ago to make way for a new building. They were excellent in making sweets, cakes and other delicacies.

Learners Academy, St. Anne's High School, Bai Avabai Framji Petit Girls High School and Auxilium Convent are some of the schools located in the Pali Hill area.

Auxilium Convent is located next to Kumar Gaurav's bungalow. Bai Avabai Framji Petit Girls High School (originally an orphanage for Parsi girls) is a very famous private school on Pali Hill and is well known for having schooled a huge number of filmstars like Namrata Shirodkar, Pooja Bhatt, Natasha, Natasha Grover. Famous alumni include Coleen Khan, Sapna Bhavnani, Monisha Jaisingh, Megha Mukherjee, child actor Taruni, television star Priya Badlani among others. St. Anne's High School has had a prominent list of film personalities such as Aamir Khan.

Candies, an eatery at Pali Hill is extremely popular and caters to the taste of the youngsters who move around in Bandra.
