Robert Neuwirth

Robert Neuwirth

Robert Neuwirth is an American journalist and author. He wrote "Shadow Cities: A Billion Squatters, A New Urban World", a book describing his experiences living in squatter communities in Africa, Brazil, Turkey and India. His articles have appeared in the "New York Times", "The Nation", and "Newsday". He is currently working on a new book on street traders around the world.

His blog, Squatter City, is an important and widely used resource for people seeking a global over view of shack dweller struggles.
