Plot

Donna Peyton (Donna Butterworth) is a ten-year-old who inherits a fortune when her father passes away. Per terms of the will, Donna must choose between her six uncles to become her new "father."

Willard Woodward (Jerry Lewis) is the family chauffeur who takes Donna to all of her uncles to stay with them for a period of time. Her uncles (all played by Jerry Lewis) all try to be nice to her, except for one who hates children and another who kidnaps her for ransom. However, the more time she spends with them, the more she realizes that Woodward is who she wants to be her new "father."

Unfortunately the lawyers will not allow her to choose Woodward, insisting that she must choose from one of her uncles. At the last minute, Everett, the uncle who hates children, comes to ask her to choose him. She agrees, for she knows that it isn't really Everett, it is Woodward in disguise.
