UK former constituency infobox
Name = Holland with Boston
Type = County
Year = 1918
Abolition = 1997
members = one

Holland with Boston was a county constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1918 until 1997, when the constituency was abolished. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post voting system.

History

Boundaries

In 1885-1918 the parliamentary borough of Boston returned one MP. The Lincolnshire county division of Spalding, in the south-east of the historic county, elected another MP. These two seats were combined to form Holland with Boston in 1918.

The new constituency had the same boundaries as the traditional sub-division of the historic county known as the Parts of Holland, which had become an administrative county in 1889.

In the 1974 redistribution of parliamentary seats the constituency was re-defined as comprising the Municipal Borough of Boston, Spalding Urban District and the Rural Districts of Boston, East Elloe, and Spalding.

The Parts of Holland County Council was abolished in 1974 and replaced by a Lincolnshire County Council. However the parliamentary boundaries continued to be based on the pre-1974 local authorities until 1983.

The 1983 redistribution defined the constituency as the Borough of Boston and some wards of the District of South Holland (Donington, Fleet, Gedney, Holbeach Hurn, Holbeach St John, Holbeach Town, Long Sutton, Moulton, Sutton Bridge, The Saints and Whaplode). All of the 1983 seat had been part of the pre-1983 constituency.
