Belbasé / Belbase is a surname from the hilly regions of central Nepal.
Kumar Belbasé was one of the founding members of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Nepal.The origin of the name appears to come from a village called "Bel Bas" which roughly translatesas "Place of Rest (or overnight stay) under a Bel tree".Belbas is a place in Peuthan District of Nepal. The migrants from Belbas became Belbase. They have their family god "Dudhe Mosta" and they belong to "Madhu Kalya Gotra".

People with their surname "Belbase" have their origin from Arghakhanchi district of Lumbini zone of Nepal. Nowadays they have been shifted to many different places of Nepal and also in other countries.
