Exhall

Exhall is a village in Warwickshire, England situated 3.6 miles from south of Nuneaton and 6.3 miles north of Coventry city centre. It is within the Coventry/Bedworth Urban Area, the conurbation that includes Coventry and Bedworth. Many regard it as a suburb of Coventry, although the village is actually administered by the borough of Nuneaton and Bedworth. Neighbouring villages include Holbrooks and Ash Green.

Exhall from a point south of Bedworth through Blackberry Lane on the Ash Green side to Holbrooks, where a level crossing on Wheelwright Lane defines the border between Warwickshire and the West Midlands, and the Coventry city boundary. The level crossing carries a railway which served the colliery at Keresley.

Exhall, surrounded by agricultural land is a mostly residential area with a few shops and local small businesses. The majority of larger shops and a supermarket being found in the Holbrooks area.A major source of local employment is the high-tech Bayton Road industrial estate, predominantly heavy engineering serving both the automobile and aerospace industries.There is a public house situated on Wheelwright Lane called by its preferred name "The Bull and Anchor". Exhall is also the location of two schools including [Wheelwright Lane Primary School] and Exhall Grange School, a specialist school for children with disabilities, such as visual impairment and autism. There is also a private Nursery School Grove Nursery School, which caters for babies and small children. Other significant places in Exhall include the historic parish church which is dedicated to St Giles. The adjoining road, Saint Giles Road, was formerly called Dead Lane and was the route taken by the funeral cortege to the church in pre-Victorian times.

Exhall should not be confused with another much smaller village in Warwickshire of the same name located near Alcester and Wixford.
