The College of Law of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, which is located in Gusaling Katipunan, is one of the two Professional schools of the University. It was founded on April 18, 1989.

History

Through the Board Resolution No. 1329, the establishment of a College of Law in the University and approving the curriculum for the first year level was authorized by the PLM Board of Regents. During its deliberation, the Board agreed that the College of Law should primarily promote social justice through legal education. It is along this line that the curriculum was developed.

On April 2, 1990, the Board approved the curriculum for the second, third, and fourth year levels based on DECS Order No. 27, Series of 1989 (Standard Law Curriculum). The first Dean of the College was Atty. Serafin V.C. Guingona who was appointed as Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals.

For the 10-year period from 1996 to 2005, the Office of the Bar Confidant included the College of Law as one of the top ten law schools in the Philippines.cite web
