Takashima, Shiga

nihongo|Takashima|高島市|Takashima-shi is a city in Shiga Prefecture, Japan.

In November 30 2004 the city had an estimated population of 56,220 and a density of 110 persons per square kilometres. The total area is 511 square kilometres.

The city was founded on January 1 2005 upon the merging of Adogawa, Imazu, Makino, Shin'asahi, Takashima towns and Kutsuki village.
