Atherinidae , found circumglobally in subtropical oceans (except theAtlantic ) near the surface. Its length is up to 25 cm.The hardyhead silverside is a round-bodied fish with a large bony head, big eyes, and a small upturned mouth. The first
dorsal fin has six spines, and the second has one spine and a few soft rays. The body colour is a green above, whitish below, and like all other members of this family there is a distinctive silver band along each side.They feed on small
