Stockland The Pines, or simply The Pines, is the name of a shopping centre owned by Stockland in Doncaster East, Victoria, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. It was opened on October 27th 1986 by the state opposition leader of the time Jeff Kennett. The centre is located 19km east of the Melbourne CBD on the corner of Blackburn and Reynolds Roads. The centre's 4 anchor stores are Coles, Safeway, Aldi and Target. Amenities include a library, several banks, almost 100 specialty stores and undercover parking.

The Pines is frequently used as a park and ride by residents. It is also used by students from nearby schools as a bus interchange.

Expansion

In 2004 the centre underwent an expansion in which Coles, Aldi and many other specialty stores were added to the north. A multi-purpose community facility has recently been opened at the back of the centre. Consensus is mixed in relation to the expansion, with some enjoying the wider range of shops available, while others mourn the smaller, more intimate nature of the The Pines before its redevelopment. In particular, the parking in the newer areas has become increasingly crowded and attracts many people who forget to watch their step around moving vehicles. These people are known as morons.
