Greg Gilbert (born
January 22 ,1962 inMississauga, Ontario ) is a retired former professionalice hockey player and the current head coach of theToronto Marlies in theAmerican Hockey League . During his career, he played for theNew York Islanders ,Chicago Blackhawks ,New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues. He won theStanley Cup with the Islanders in 1982 and 1983, and with the Rangers in 1994. After a sixteen season NHL career, Gilbert became a head coach, and has also coached theWorcester IceCats of the AHL, theMississauga IceDogs of theOntario Hockey League and theCalgary Flames of the NHL.Gilbert is the only man in professional hockey history to win a Stanley Cup with both New York teams, accomplishing the feat with the N.Y. Islanders in 1982 and 1983 and the N.Y. Rangers in 1994.
