Dripping Springs Independent School District is a public school district based in Dripping Springs, Texas (USA), serving approximately 4,400 students.

Located in Hays County, approximately 15 miles west of Austin, Dripping Springs is often referred to as the "Gateway to the Texas Hill Country." In addition to Dripping Springs, the district serves the village of Bear Creek and rural areas in northwestern Hays County. A small portion of southwestern Travis County also lies within the district.

In 2010, the school district was "Exemplary" by the Texas Education Agency.[1] Of its five campuses, the high school and two elementary schools were rated "Exemplary;" the middle school and other elementary school were "Recognized." In December of 2010 Dripping Springs ISD was one of 43 public school districts and charter schools statewide (out of more than 1,250) to be recognized in a report released by the Texas Comptroller’s Office as having the highest rating for efficiency in spending while attaining high levels of student achievement.

Dripping Springs High School is a comprehensive public high school consisting of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. The enrollment is approximately 1,250 students. From the graduating class of 2010, 93% of the students are attending either a two-year or four-year post-secondary institution with a 99.98% completion rate. Drippings Springs High School received many recognitions during the 2009-10 school year: Dripping Springs HS again was included in Newsweek magazine's list of the nation's top high schools, coming in at number 361 in the nation and number 31 in Texas. When looking at only 4A comprehensive high schools, Dripping Springs was fourth in the state. The Washington Post also listed DSHS as one of the nation's best high schools, ranking the school 785th on the national list and 73rd in the state of Texas based on the “Challenge Index.” Dripping Springs HS was recognized as one of the top high schools in Central Texas by the organization Children at Risk, ranking sixth. Dripping Springs ISD is one of 388 school districts in the nation to be recognized by the College Board with a place on its “AP (Advanced Placement) Achievement List.” The Lady Tiger softball team captured a district title and advanced to the state tournament semifinals. In 2009-10, the Tiger marching band was the 4-A state champion; In 2011-12, the band was the runner up.
