"The Fast and the Feathery / The Fowl Friend" is the second episode of Duck Dodgers.

Plot summary

The Fowl Friend

The episode starts with dodgers reading a comic book about robots, and decides that he wants a robot helper for himself. I.Q. calls to tell Dodgers of a new martian battle station that needs to be destroyed. Dodgers asks I.Q. for a robot to help him destroy the battle station, and is sent agent Roboto for the job. Before destroying the station, Dodgers has Roboto do many mindless chores such as cleaning up after him, but Roboto considers Dodgers his friend anyway. However, when they start the attack on the space station, Dodgers realizes that Roboto is the one doing everything that he usually does, and is getting all of the credit. Dodgers decides to get rid of Roboto once and for all. First, he tries to lure Roboto to a space mine to blow him up, but instead Roboto brings the mine back and Dodgers has to find a place to get rid of it, but it's unsuccessful(dodgers is blown up by the mine). The second attempt(Operation Mother's Broach) involved Dodgers putting a priceless broach in the engine vent and having Robot go and fetch it. When Roboto got to the engine chamber, Dodgers overloaded the engine and destroyed them, but Roboto survived. This causes a problem however, as an asteroid is about to destroy the ship. In an effort to save Dodgers, Roboto sacrfices himself by flying straight into the asteroid.At the funeral, I.Q. says that he can rebuild Roboto, but Dodgers disagrees as he proceeds to destroy what's left of Roboto.

* Roboto's death is a parody of the movie The Iron Giant.
