All records of a franchise are dropped when it is acquired by a new company, except for:
*The San Miguel/Royal franchise, when it took a leave of absence on 1985, the Alaska Milk franchise didn't acquire San Miguel's records. When San Miguel returned in 1987, it assumed the records of the original San Miguel franchise. The same was done for the Tanduay franchise.
*The Purefoods franchise, when Ayala Corporation sold it's Purefoods unit to San Miguel Corporation, the records of the Ayala-owned team were carried over to the San Miguel-owned team.
