Spelsbury (pronEng|ˈspɛlzb(ə)ri, locally IPA| [ˈspɛw-] ) is a small English village in north-west
Oxfordshireabout one mile from Charlburyon a narrow hill between the Coldron and Tastonbrooks overlooking the Evenlode river and the Wychwood Forestto the north with a Norman church (rebuilt in the mid 1700s), a memorial fountain in the shape of a shell, and a group of almshouses of 1688. The actor Sir Ben Kingsleylives in the village.
It is recorded in the
