Istanbul Blues Company

Istanbul Blues Company (İstanbul Blues Kumpanyası in Turkish, or referred as IBC hereafter) is a blues band from Turkey. They're often referred as "The Original Turkish Blues Band". They bring the blues sound to their national melodies, harvesting both to put together a unique and plausible sound.

History

IBC was found in October 1993, Sarp Keskiner and Salih Nazım Peker being the band's founding members. The band has been a leading voice in Turkish underground music community, "teaching" to those who practiced blues, gospel, cajun, acustic, electronica, collective improvisation, anatolian, western african and middle-eastern musics. Keskiner later on reformed the band with Vefa Karatay, Feramerz Ayadi as Moe Joe and together they took stage on various tours, festivals and concerts.

With band's debut album in 1997, "Kökler", Keskiner has started his carrier as musical director and productor. He has thus far been compositor, lyrics author, arranger and productor in following albums: "Sweet Mother Nature's Child" ( [Chris Chaves, 1999), "Şair Zamanlar" (IBC, 1999), "Chicago Istanbul Mainline" (Moe Joe, 2000), "Sokkur Saska" (Saska, 2004] ).
