Nowshehra or Naushera is a town and a notified area committee in Rajauri district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Demographics

As of 2001^[update] India census,^[2] Nowshehra had a population of 4415. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Nowshehra has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 76%. In Nowshehra, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
