Gundlupet is a town in Chamarajanagar district in the Indian state of Karnataka. This small town is about 56 km from on the Mysore-Ooty / Mysore-Calicut(NH 212) road and about 200 km from Bangalore. It is the last town in Karnataka enroute to Ooty or Calicut.
Bandipur National Park Forest Office is 16 km from Gundlupet.

Agriculture

Main crops are Jowar, Ragi, Suger cane, Turmeric and Banana. It looks like a arid region although has a national park next to it. Karnataka has been deprived of Kaveri especially in the human inhabited areas of Chamarajanagar and Gundlupet . It is to be noted that these two places are surrounded by forests and national parks like Bandipur.
