In mid 2005, he departed Dennis Publishing to co-found Hayburner Media Inc., a film and television production and motion design company, who's credits include "Battle of the Network Reality Stars" (BRAVO).

Phoenix Productions

In January 2007, Phoenix re-launched Phoenix Productions, a full-service production, visual effects and digital post-production company. Integration of technology, talent and creativity and a focus on client satisfaction to provide relevant, high-quality projects on-time and within budget. Vision, process and passion have garnered Phoenix Productions a global portfolio of high-profile clientele in the Commercial, Advertising, Broadcast, Film and Web.

Phoenix spent 4 years at Dennis and now specializes in consulting for publishing companies, expanding their brands to the web through video and rich media programming and advertising.
Chris Phoenix has the distinction of being one of the notable few who, for the past six years, has been developing successful models for how magazine publishers transition their brand, with video, onto the web and television. He instituted and ran the much-admired Dennis Media Group, a web, retail and television video department, from 2001 to 2005 for the Dennis brands "Maxim", "Stuff", and "Blender". He has gone on to innovate, consult, and develop programming and content for Hearst Publishing, Condé Nast Publishing, Wenner Media and the Meredith Corporation. “The primary challenge is to adapt a business and transition it to a new medium while recognizing the web as a fundamental reorganizing of how people search out their entertainment and information." Phoenix focuses on the economic underpinnings of video production and creation and how those costs can be mitigated with advertising dollars. “The time has come to make video a successful part of the publishing business model or the industry could potentially find itself usurped by a new technology and means of distribution.”

From March to April 2008, digital duplication facility International Duplication Centre hired Chris Phoenix as a consultant to establish a fully-integrated post-production division - Air Station.

Phoenix Productions, completed the graphics package for Comedy Central's "Night of Too Many Stars" [http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/night_of_too_many_stars/index.jhtml] which aired on Sunday, April 13th 2008, is currently working with Busboy Productions on the motion branding and graphics package for Comedy Central’s upcoming series Important Things with Demetri Martin.
