Robert "Choc" Thornton (born July 14, 1978 [ [http://www.bbc.co.uk/gloucestershire/sport/racing/bignames.shtml BBC Sport - Racing at Cheltenham] ] ) is an English National Hunt jockey currently employed as stable jockey to Alan King.

Robert "Choc" Thornton is one of the country's leading National Hunt jockeys. After 2 successful Cheltenham Festivals in 2005 & 2006 where he was the leading English jockey, Choc went one better in 2007 where he won the overall jockeys award with 4 winners, 3 of which were trained by his boss Alan King, including Voy Por Ustedes and My Way de Solzen. He was recently engaged.

His worst moment in racing was when Strong Promise died in the 2000 Martel Cup at Liverpool.
