Ikthalon is a fictional character appearing in the Marvel Comics universe, possibly based loosely on the Lovecraftian entity Ithaqua.Fact|date=June 2008

Publication history

Ikthalon first appeared in "Marvel Spotlight" #14 (March 1974), and was created by Steve Gerber and Jim Mooney.

The character subsequently appears in "Doctor Strange" #33 (February 1979), and "Marvel Fanfare" #6 (January 1983).

Fictional character biography

Ikthalon is a demon who has clashed with Daimon Hellstrom.

Ikthalon lives in a dimension known as the Ice World of Ikthalon.

Ikthalon is an embodiment of man's tendency to resist change, and thus represents frozen stagnation.
