"The Family Way" is a 1966 British comedy film based on Bill Naughton's play "All in Good Time" (1963). It began life in 1961 as a television play entitled "Honeymoon Postponed". [] The film was produced and directed by John and Roy Boulting, respectively, and starred father and daughter John Mills and Hayley Mills. Naughton adapted the play himself.

A realistic, working-class comedy set in Bolton in northern England, the story concerns newly-wed couple Jenny and Arthur Fitton (Hayley Mills and Hywel Bennett) who live with Arthur’s parents Ezra and Lucy (John Mills and Marjorie Rhodes), and who are unable to consummate their marriage. As tongues begin to wag, tensions rise and truths begin to emerge, particularly about Ezra and his onetime best friend, Billy.

The film was controversial because it featured a rear nude scene with Hayley Mills, a former child star who had played such "cute" roles as Pollyanna. Part of the film's promotion used the brief nudity and the fact that Mills was starring in a "grown up" film. Mills, who was 20 when the film was released, subsequently moved in with 53-year-old director Roy Boulting, whom she married six years later.

The soundtrack was scored by Beatle Paul McCartney and producer George Martin.

The cover sleeve of "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before", a single by English band The Smiths, features Murray Head (as Arthur's brother Geoffrey) in a still from the film.

The premiere of the film was in London on 18th December 1966.The film was released on video on 24th February 1989.
