The Australian Dance Council (Ausdance) is a national dance advocacy organisation for dancers, choreographers, directors and educators. It has offices in the states and territory. Ausdance Australian Dance Week, including the Australian Dance Awards occurs in the week of the International Dance Council's International Dance Day [ [http://www.australiadancing.org/subjects/4441.html International Dance Day at "Australia Dancing"] ]

It provides a broad range of services and is involved with:
*Australian Dance Week
*the Australian Dance Awards
*choreographic and "Safe Dance" research
*the Australian Youth Dance Festival
*the Australian Dance Collection at the National Library of Australia
*SCOPE-Securing Career Opportunities and Professional Employment - a collaboration between the Australian Sports Commission, The Australia Council for the Arts and Ausdance.
