List of historic buildings in Perth, Western Australia

This is an incomplete list of historic buildings in Perth, Western Australia. The list is in chronological order and includes notable buildings situated in the Perth metropolitan area which still stand and which were generally built before 1910. Notable buildings are those that are in a good state of preservation and are included in the " [http://register.heritage.wa.gov.au/ State Register of Heritage Places] " at the Heritage Council of Western Australia (HCWA). Generally, residential buildings are not included in this list unless they are no longer used as such, or are of particularly high heritage value.

Due to the prosperity from gold-rushes on the 1890s, considerable development occurred in Perth in the period. The style of some of the buildings of that period are clearly reflected with a higher level of opulence. eg. the Palace Hotel, Perth and the Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle.

Until about the mid 1970s, little effort was made towards conservation of early buildings in Western Australia. Since then however, a concerted program of government policies to retain and preserve the remaining structures has been made with the recording of important buildings on the Heritage Council of W.A. as well as municipal heritage listings within local councils.
