Phonecasting

Phonecasting

Phonecasting is a portmanteau of telephone and podcasting, and simply means recording and listening to podcasts with a phone.

Traditionally, podcasters would require a microphone and recording software to create their programming. Phonecasting replaces the microphone with a phone. The recording software is replaced by the recording service and a dial in number to call and record to.

With "PhoneCasting", podcast audiences simply dial up podcast shows on demand from their phone. Quality of sound during phonecasting is similar to the quality of talking on a phone.

Bands/Musicians

Lost Ocean

As of March 2008, The California-based rock band Lost Ocean provides their fans with unique phonecasts, aptly named Lost Ocean CellCasts, which combine interviews with the band, brief musical performances or recordings, as well as a Q&A session with fans, all in just a few minutes.

Your band can have your own phonecasting utility for fans to call with any phone. Check out songnumbers.com Set up a phone number for your song that fans can call and preview. Press a key on their mobile to purchase or send it to a friend by key press.

This service was created by the company behind webby award winning podlinez.com utility, phonecasting.com
