Peninsula Airways, usually called PenAir, is an American airline based in Anchorage, Alaska, USA. It is Alaska's largest commuter airline operating an extensive scheduled passenger and cargo services to over 85 communities, as well as charter and medevac services. History

The airline was founded in 1955 by pilot Orin Seybert of Pilot Point. [http://www.penair.com/about.html] Operations commenced in 1956, concentrating on charter services. Scheduled services were inaugurated in 1973 between King Salmon and the Pribilof Islands communities. In 1985 Penair acquired all the assets of Air Transport Services of Kodiak. In November 1991 PenAir became a codeshare partner of Alaska Airlines. The partnership has flourished and grown, and today, Penair continues to operate many flights with an Alaska Airlines code..
