Rig (stage lighting)

In stage lighting, the rig is a technical term for the entire lighting apparatus, including the lights themselves, the physical structure which supports them, and the cabling, control systems, dimmers, power supplies, light boards, and (to a certain extent) the people who maintain and operate it.
