"The Godfather's Revenge", a 2006 novel written by author Mark Winegardner, is the sequel to "The Godfather", "The Sicilian", and "The Godfather Returns". The story takes place from 1963-1964, and picks up the story from where "The Godfather Returns" left off. The novel deals with the escalation of Michael's uncertainty, his regret, and his guilt-ridden conscience, with Nick Geraci's plots of revenge, with Tom Hagen's being implicated in a murder, and organized crime's battle with a presidential family (the Sheas, who are analogous to the Kennedy family).

Plot

The story begins with Michael Corleone having a dream in which his brother Fredo, whom he had killed, warns him of a coming threat. At the same time, the apparition tries to give Michael a message, which he doesn't comprehend.

Carlo Tramonti, a boss of the New Orleans Crime syndicate, is introduced as he sent out of the country by the INS to Colombia, which is claimed he is a citizen of. Meanwhile, Attorney General Daniel Shea declares his war on the mafia.

Tom Hagen meets with a CIA agent named Joe Lucadello in a Protestant church in Florida. He informs Hagen that Nick Geraci, a former caporegime for the Corleone's has turned up. The book then outlines Nick Geraci's survival in an underground cave under Lake Erie, and how he becomes ready to take his revenge. He contacts his father, who helps him get away, and plots his revenge with Momo Barone. Meanwhile, Tom Hagen gets framed in a murder of a woman with whom allegedly he had an extra-martial affair.

Nick Geraci reunites with his family, began his revenge against Michael Corleone:
* He kills Tom Hagen by drowning him in the Florida Everglades. Geraci then sends Michael a package containing a dead baby alligator along with Hagen's wallet, a message similar to the one that is sent to Sonny in the original novel following Luca Brasi's death.
* He mets with Momo Barone, and promised him the title of consigliere if he agreed to help. Momo agreed, and fed Geraci info on Michael Corleones moves.
* Jimmy Shea, an old friend of the Corleones gets assassinated just before his re-election as the president of USA.
* Geraci contacts Don Stracci and asks for his help to send Michael Corleone by a vote out through the commission. He claims that was what Micheal always wanted(referring to Michael desire to make himself a legitimate business man). Nick manages to get the votes to overthrow Micheal.

Don Stracci asks Nick to meet Don Greco the Greek who also because of Don Stracci's influence was to vote against Michael. Nick meets him at an restaurant on Staten Island. When he arrive, he realizes that he has actually been tricked Michael Corleone. He tries to talk it over with Micheal. But Micheal chooses revenge and asks Momo Barone to shoot Nick Geraci to prove his loyalty. Nick grabs the gun and shoots two bodyguards and injures Al Neri but gets seriously wounded in the process. The other Micheal's caporegime, Eddie Paradise, shoots both Momo Barone and Nick thus killing them.

Micheal also executes the following people:
* Carlo Tramonti is shot at the back of his head and thrown off on the highway.
* Carlo's brother who sought to re open his brother's murder dies of "natural causes".
* Joe Lucadello, an ice prick is rammed into his eye.
