Totness is a recent addition to South Australia, and consists mainly of industrial zoned areas. It is commonly referred to as Mount Barker or Littlehampton but is actually a town of its own. There is no street sign indicating you are entering Totness.

It is about 2 km from Mount Barker, and 1 km from Littlehampton, but the towns have merged due to growth.

It is also home to the Totness Recreation Park.
