Qadesh

Qadesh may refer to:

*Kadesh or Qadesh — more accurately transliterated nowadays as Qadesh—a historically documented Canaanite walled hill city of antiquity along the Orontes river now believed to be the ruins known as "Tell Nebi Mend", Syria in the Middle East (Palestine-Syria) outside of which Rameses the Great led a force over mi to km|1000|wiki=yes attacked the encroaching Hitite empire. The two forces met in the plains west of the river and south of the walled city in the battle of Qadesh, believed to be the largest Chariot vs. Chariot battle in history with 5-6,000 chariots on the field.
*Qetesh — a Canaanite and Egyptian goddess— the goddess of Love and Beauty; whose name (early alphabets having no vowels, and others being pictographs) has sometimes been annoted as both Kadesh and Qadesh, amongst other variations.
