John H. Edwards

John Hilton Edwards (March 26, 1928 – October 11, 2007) was a British medical geneticist. He is credited with the first description, in 1960, of the syndrome now known as Edwards syndrome or trisomy 18 [J. H. Edwards, D. G. Harnden, A. H. Cameron, V. M. Crosse, O. H. Wolff: A new trisomic syndrome. "The Lancet", London, 1960 Apr 9; 1: 787-790. PMID 13819419] .In 1979, he was elected to fellowship of the Royal Society.
