(2008-present)Malmö Arena or Hyllie Arena is a multi-use indoor arena in Hyllievång, a new development in the city of Malmö, Sweden. Ground was broken for construction on January 10, 2007 and the building was inaugurated on November 6, 2008. It is used mostly for ice hockey matches, and has a capacity of 13,000 spectators during sporting events and 15,500 for events such as concerts.

Design and construction
The stadium was designed by Pöyry Architects and Wingårdhs arkitektkontor, with engineers Byggteknik i Skåne.
The main contractors were Parkfast, with Strängbetong as the precast fabricators and Rautaruukki carrying out steel fabrication.
Events
Britney Spears will perform at the arena on October 11, 2011 during her Femme Fatale Tour. Also Rihanna will bring her Loud Tour to the Malmö Arena on October 31, 2011.
Hyllie Arena will play host to the home matches of the Malmö Redhawks, replacing their former home, the Malmö Isstadion. Melodifestivalen has also been slated to be held at Hyllie Arena in the future.
In addition to that, the arena will also host the finals of the 2011 World Men's Handball Championships, and will be the final venue for both the 2010-11 and 2011-12 Svenska Superligan finals.[1]
