Aursund (or "Aursunden" [The suffix "-en" is a form of the Norwegian language definite article and means "the". Hence " Aursunden" is equivalent to "the Aursund." Both forms can be found in English language text.] ) is a lake in Røros municipality in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway.

The longest and largest river in Norway, the Glomma (pronounced and written "Glåma" in northern regions of the river) has its headwaters at lake Aursund at the head of the Glommadal.
