Che (Arabic)

Che (Arabic)

Che or Chāʼ () is an additional letter of the Arabic alphabet, derived from unicode|ǧīm (ج) with two additional dots. It is rarely used in Arabic itself, but may be used to represent a voiceless postalveolar affricate (IPA: IPA|/tʃ/) when writing other languages.

The letter is called Ca in the Jawi script.

Hausa uses unicode|ṯāʼ (ث) to represent the sound instead.
