Small Advisories

Nimitz High School is dedicated to helping students make a connection to high school through small learning groups. All students 9-12 participate in an advisory program called VISTAS, Viking Interactive Student-Teacher Advisory Sessions. Through VISTAS, individual attention is given to every student's personal, educational, and career development. Each student has a mentor/advisor that remains with his/her advisory throughout grades 9-12. VISTAS meets once each week for 30 minutes.
