Carroll Smalley Page (January 10, 1843 - December 3, 1925) was a United States Senator and Governor of Vermont. Born in Westfield, Vermont, he attended the common schools, People's Academy in Morrisville and Lamoille Central Academy in Hyde Park. He was a dealer in raw calfskins at Hyde Park and was president and director of several banks and corporations. From 1869 to 1872 he was a member of the Vermont House of Representatives; from 1874 to 1876 a member of the Vermont Senate, and from 1880 to 1891 registrar of probate court. He was a savings bank examiner from 1884 to 1888, and was Governor of Vermont from 1890 to 1892.In 1908, Page was elected as a Republican to the U.S. Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Redfield Proctor; he was reelected in 1910 and 1916 and served from October 21, 1908, to March 3, 1923. He was not a candidate for reelection in 1922. While in the Senate, Page was chairman of the Committee on Standards, Weights and Measures (Sixty-first Congress) and a member of the Committee on Cuban Relations (Sixty-second Congress), the Committee on the Disposition of Useless Executive Papers (Sixty-third Congress), the Committee on Transportation and Sale of Meat Products (Sixty-fourth and Sixty-fifth Congresses), and the Committee on Naval Affairs (Sixty-sixth and Sixty-seventh Congresses). He resided in Hyde Park until his death in 1925; interment was in Hyde Park Cemetery.
