John Campbell (1708-1775) [ [http://encyclopedia.jrank.org/CAL_CAR/CAMPBELL_JOHN_1708_1775_.html "Campbell, John", "1911 encyclopedia"] ] was a Scottish author. He contributed to George Sale's "Universal History", and wrote a "Political Survey of Britain" (1744).
