TVR Iaşi is one of the six regional stations of Romanian Public Television (TVR). Its headquarters are Iasi. TVR Iaşi programmes cover the eight departments in the North-East of Romania, Moldova Region. The station broadcasts on the regional channel, and produces programmes for the national (TVR 1, TVR2, TVR Cultural) and international Romanian public channels. Since its first broadcast on 1991, the regional community started regarding TVR Iaşi as its own television, not only due to the editorial policy, but also to its presence in some of the most relevant social and cultural events of the region.

TVR Iaşi is considered to be a genuine “school of reportage”, many of the important names in the Romanian media starting as members of our staff. It developed its European dimension from its very beginnings. In 1992, the station joined CIRCOM Regional (the European Association of Regional Television Stations), and hosted a year later the first ever organized CIRCOM Conference in a Central and East-European country.

TVR Iaşi grew up due to training courses directed by prestigious television experts. In an Europe where regions play an increasing role in the preservation of the cultural identity, TVR Iaşi managed to be a voice. The involvement in the community life has been outlined in social and cultural campaigns, partnerships and special events.

Nationwide and abroad, TVR Iaşi is well-known as a reliable initiator and media partner for prestigious events. The international mass-media colloquiums, festivals, books presentations, and arts exhibitions are just some of the examples to be reminded.
